Fort Des Moines Museum and Education Center invites all to attend our Massing of the Colors celebration on Saturday, November 2, 2024 beginning with a free Pancake Breakfast from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by the ceremony at 11:00 a.m. at Franklin Jr. High Events Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Since we want this event to be accessible to all, there is no charge. Donations are always appreciated.
We will kick off the Massing of the Colors celebration with a Pancake Breakfast.
We invite all attendees to join us for breakfast from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Massing of the Colors is an impressive educational event, a moving patriotic ceremony of support and remembrance, and a “must see” for all ages. The ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m.
We invite all color guards to participate in this moving and inspiring ceremony.
Participants are welcome to join the breakfast before ceremony preparation begins at 9:00 a.m.
The Fort Des Moines Museum and Education Center preserves, promotes, and perpetuates the sacrifice, service, and leadership of the Black Officers of World War I, the Women’s Auxiliary Army Corp (WAAC) and Women’s Army Corp (WAC) of World War II.
